In The House of Bernarda Alba, Federico García Lorca traps us inside a household ruled by mourning, repression, and forbidden desire. After the death of her second husband, Bernarda imposes eight years of seclusion on her daughters, demanding absolute obedience and flawless honor. But beneath that strict order, passions, rivalries, and hunger for freedom begin to burn, threatening to shatter everything. Intense, poetic, and devastating, this tragedy exposes the crushing weight of social expectations, family control, and the desperate human need to live with one’s own voice.
