La Posada: Stage to Screen

of riveting history, light-hearted fantasy, and startling genius—a magical love
story of activist Allan Affeldt and artist Tina Mion as they create
something brilliant from the ashes of history.  Originally performed live at the Elks Theatre in 2023.

La Posada Hotel and Gardens in Winslow, Arizona, opened in
1929, closed a mere 27 years later, and was neglected until the 1990s, when
through countless struggles, hard work, and passion, Allan, Tina, and a tiny
team of artisans brought Mary Colter’s favorite building back to life. 

Today the real hotel glows with life and art, music and
beauty, as well as an enduring (if perhaps fanciful) history. Micki’s play
mirrors that romantic world and its inspiring story on stage—with live music
and projected images enhancing the captivating power of live actors who bring
the words and the world to life. In just over 2 hours, you are a traveler in
time, leaving with the gift of hope and the promise of possibilities.
