About This Show
The Underpants is based on a classic German satire by Carl Sternheim and adapted for the stage by comedian Steve Martin. The show is a farce about a neglected young wife in pre-war Düsseldorf whose bloomers go south while she is watching a parade. She hopes no one notices, but of course everybody notices, and therein lies the possibility of unexpected celebrity and its surprising rewards. Daniel Gidron directs.
