About This Show

In 1940s Houston Carrie Watts is living the twilight of her life trapped in a two-bedroom apartment with her controlling daughter-in-law and hen-pecked son. Her fondest wish is to revisit Bountiful, the small town of her youth, the place she calls “home.” Guided by her feisty spirit and generous heart, Carrie decides to undertake the pilgrimage home one last time. The Trip to Bountiful is a beautiful and earthbreaking story from one of our country’s greatest writers, Horton Foote (Dividing the Estate, The Orphan’s Home Cycle and screenplays for To Kill a Mockingbird and Tender Mercies).
