The King Stag

Julie Taymor (winner of two Tony Awards for The Lion King) brings this fantastical Asian fairy tale of true love and transformation to life with enchanting costumes, masks, puppets, and movement. Carlo Gozzi’s The King Stag, set in the kingdom of Serendippo, draws on theater forms across time and culture–from Japanese bunraku to Indonesian shadow puppetry to Commedia dell’Arte and Balinese temple dancers.
