New York City
Summer Stage’s 2017 Mainstage production is based on the Victor Hugo novel and features the Oscar-nominated score from the Disney animated classic. Despite the Disney label, this is no fairy tale. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a powerful musical drama featuring a gorgeous, spine-tingling score created by musical legends Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Adding to the spectacle are the splendid voices that combine to make the onstage adult choir.
Audiences will be drawn into the moving tale of the scorned bell-ringer Quasimodo, the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, and the sinister Archdeacon Frollo, who adopted the deformed Quasimodo as a favor to his dying brother.
Not for younger children, Hunchback will offer a thrilling that audiences will not forget!
