Written in 1891, Frank Wedekind´s Spring Awakening (translated by Douglas Langworthy) follows the sexual awakening of a group of 14-yr olds. The source for the new Broadway musical, this cutting-edge classic launched the 20th century avant-garde theater and was so boldly honest that it was not performed without censorship for sixty-three years.
