About This Show

Winner of the American Theatre Critics Association Award for "Best New Play 1999", Lisa Loomer’s Expecting Isabel is a tragicomic, very modern glimpse into the world of pregnancy, infertility, and the complications that arise when a couple so desperately wants a baby. Miranda and Nick, a Manhattan couple in their late thirties who have been married for ten years, are living a quiet, comfortable life. Then, one day without thinking about the implications of such a revelation, Nick looks up from the sports page to proclaim, “You know what I’d really love? A child.” And so their odyssey begins. Expecting Isabel is a seriously funny journey through very modern times.
