Set in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach Memoirs is told with hilarious insight and deep affection through the eyes of Eugene Morris Jerome, the fictional stand-in for the boy who would become Neil Simon. Living in a crowded, lower-middle-class home, the play captures a few days in the life of a loving family.
