Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady-of-a-villainess that audiences love to hate, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment. This bright, new extravaganza takes place in 1922 Manhattan during the time of jazz, speakeasies, and moonshine. Midwestern girl Millie Dillmount makes her way to New York City in search of love and a “modern marriage”.
It was the most awarded new show on Broadway in 2002, winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Choreography and Best Orchestration. Rewriting all the rules of love, Thoroughly Modern Millie had all of New York dancing the Charleston during its successful Broadway run.
