New York City
Crazy for You is the musical story of Bobby Child, a rich, pampered, 1930s New York playboy who is sent by his domineering mother to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose the mortgage on a long-dormant theatre. Upon arriving in the lazy Western mining town, Bobby’s adventures take an unexpected turn when he falls head-over-heels in love with Polly Baker, the only girl in a town of 157 men.
Audiences will be swept away by this artfully constructed tale of boy meets girl in the Wild West, with romance, mistaken identity, ribald humor, and the glorious music of two of America’s most prolific composers and lyricists, George and Ira Gershwin. Crazy for You is an adaptation of their 1930 Broadway hit Girl Crazy, and it’s crammed with standards like “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “They Can’t Take That Away from Me” and “Nice Work if You Can Get It.”
