About the Show

The Fighting Quaker is produced by Suzanne Matlack DeLaurentiis, Dale Fabrigar, and Nicole Mendez, and directed by Bryan Rasmussen, the 40-minute drama tells the powerful and largely untold story of Timothy Matlack—the man who hand-inscribed the final official copy of the Declaration of Independence—tracing his journey from debtor’s prison to the Second Continental Congress.

The evening serves as a fundraiser for the Mendez National Institute of Transplantation Foundation (MNITF), raising awareness for kidney disease and organ donation—an especially meaningful mission, as two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Benjamin Franklin and John Hart, ultimately died from complications related to kidney disease. The event will also feature a reception with food and drinks, gift bags, a VIP gifting suite, and a meet-the-cast experience, blending history, purpose, and impact into one unforgettable night.
