About the Show
Gateway Playhouse presents the Long Island debut of the Off-Broadway musical version of A Christmas Carol, written by Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime) and Alan Mencken (Beauty and the Beast). The show presents the familiar, heartwarming tale of the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge from hardhearted humbug to charitable citizen, thanks to the appearance of three Christmas ghosts. As Scrooge, film and Broadway actor Steve Brady (The Fantasticks) leads a talented cast that includes members from the production at Madison Square Garden as well as a children’s chorus featuring performers from more than 15 towns across Long Island. Newsday calls it “a huge musical gift.”
