Philadelphia’s famed Pig Iron Theatre Company’s Hell Meets Henry Halfway is a heady cocktail of florid insults and absurd cruelties, dressed in tennis whites. Based on Polish literary provocateur Witold Gombrowicz’s Gothic horror novel Possessed, Hell Meets Henry Halfway is set amid a decaying Eastern European aristocracy. It’s a pitch-black comedy, set in a poisonous atmosphere of contempt and self-pity.
