An Evening with Frankenharry: Five Short and Outrageous Comedies by Joseph Sorrentino
The Frankenharry Plays are short comedies written by Rochester-based playwright and photographer Joseph Sorrentino. They came to be known as the Frankenharry Plays because Sorrentino worked on them with two Philadelphia actors named, appropriately enough, Frank and Harry. Four of the plays premiered at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival where they were a big hit with audiences and critics. Joseph Sorrentino was awarded a Pennsylvania Council on The Arts Fellowship in Playwrighting in 1995 to write “Headin’ South.” Among numerous other awards, he has been awarded three Individual Artist Grants by the Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester.
