The Maestrosities
$12.00 in advance; $15.00 at the door
The musical clown act The Maestrosities continue with their sell-out monthly variety show at The Zipper. This month’s guests include Grammy nominated trumpet sensation Kiku Collins, 2007 Apollo Grand Champion Hip-Hop Dancer Kenichi Ebina and comic juggler Tony Duncan. As always, the show features heart-swelling, mind-bending tributes to the pop greats of our generation: Madonna, Jackson Five, Herb Alpert (and The Star Wars Cantina Song) played on tuba, ukulele, accordion, trumpet, clarinet and spoons, in addition to juggling, tap dancing and lots of other fun stuff. Anyone can dream of being in a rock band. Most people use better judgment and leave it at dreaming. But these six clowns have triumphed over better judgment, to live that rock-and-roll dream for all of us. Sort of.
