About This Show

The Richmond Ballet, Artistic Director Stoner Winslett, makes its New York City debut at The Joyce Theater. The dynamic company performs two separate programs of original works that were created for the company. Stoner Winslett unveils a collection of six works — never before seen in New York — ­that mesh in a breathtaking fusion of classical and contemporary artistry.

Program A (Tues 4/5, Sat 4/9): Nuevo Tango by William Soleau, music by Astor Piazzolla; A Maiden’s Hymn by Jessica Lang, music by Franz Schubert; Streets and Legends by Colin Connor, music by Alisdair Fraser, Ashley MacIsaac, and Paul Machlis.

Program B (Wed 4/6, Fri 4/8; Sun 4/10 2 pm mat): Echoing Past by Stoner Winslett, music by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel; Bow Out by Val Caniparoli, music by David Bedford and Roy Powell; Now and Then by Mauricio Wainrot, music by Henryk Górecki.

There is a special Gala program on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 pm with the Governor of Virginia and other celebrities in attendance. Saturday April 9th at 2:00 pm is a special family matinee.
