This year, several elements of the beloved Radio City Christmas Spectacular will be transformed to include six (6) new scenes and groundbreaking technology that will immerse the audience in the magic of the Christmas Spectacular like never before. This year’s production will feature new Rockette performances, new musical compositions and heartwarming songs, dazzling new costumes and state-of-the-art technology alongside cherished numbers that have been featured in the show since 1933. The 2011 Radio City Christmas Spectacular will captivate audiences as the past meets the future.
Along with re-imagined new scenes, fan-favorites will continue to dazzle audience including “New York at Christmas,” where the world-famous Rockettes will board a REAL double-decker Gray Line tour bus for an awe-inspiring tour of Manhattan featuring show stopping choreography and culminating in Times Square with a live fireworks display. The high-energy tap-infused “Twelve Days of Christmas” will continue to showcase the Rockettes precision choreography and push artistic boundaries.
Traditional cherished numbers such as “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” which continues to set the standard as the signature Rockette number for precision performance, and “the Living Nativity” remain a vital part of the show’s core and have been performed since its inception in 1933. The Rockettes will undoubtedly bring the audience to their feet with a Rockette finale, “Let Christmas Shine,” honoring and celebrating the Rockettes as the stars of the show.
