A taped Zapatista figure lays on the ground. Written with chalk, the words of an unknown man follow Manhattannites to and from work. A group of masked performers stomp and shout theater through the streets of New York City. Zapatasos is based on the Zapatista movement of Mexico, and combines text, dance, and props. It is performed in front, behind, above, and below the work of James De La Vega. Schedule is as follows:
Monday, November 27, 12-2pm: Astor Place, Union Square Park
Tuesday, November 28, 12-2pm: Metropolitan Stairs, New York Stock Exchange
Wednesday, November 29, 3-5pm: Spanish Harlem
