About This Show

Mystic Theatre presents a production of Yeats: Lenten Plays.
Staged by artistic director, Mark Bloom, the production features original music, composed by Kurt Vega, for harp, recorder, and drum; choreography by New York University faculty, Renata Celichowska; and puppets designed by sculptor, Michael Synatzske.

A company of professional actors perform the roles in three one act plays by William Butler Yeats: Purgatory, Calvary and The Resurrection. These three plays provide an excellent opportunity to explore the work of this modern verse dramatist, whose interest in ritualism and Noh Theatre, made Yeats a true member of the theatrical Avant Garde.
