WOMEN IN COMEDY
Written and directed by Jacqueline Wade, this is a hilarious performance piece that depicts the lives of various African-American female comediennes. Featuring such greats as Buttterbeans and Susie, Moms Mabley, Pearl Bailey and much, much more.
THE WOMEN OF SHAKESPEARE AND
CORIOLANUS THE AFRICAN WARRIOR
Concieved by Debra Ann Byrd and directed by Brigitte Waites, The Women of Shakespeare is a compliation of classical monologues and scenes highlighting the roles of several women from Shakespeare’s plays including sprited speeches from Lady Macbeth, Queen Maragaret, and Volumnia, The mother of Coriolanus. Coriolanus: The African Warrior, utilizing the original Shakesperian texts, adapts an african world view and features live african drums and dancing, and the TWAS Classical Actors of Color.
BLACK PANTHER WOMEN
Written and directed by Jacqueline Wade, this is a moving play about the women in the Black Panther Party.
