West Village Musical Theatre Festival

About This Show

The West Village Musical Theatre Festival runs June 8-12th at the 13th Street Repertory Theatre, and features eighteen new works from some of musical theatre’s most exciting emerging and established writers, and you can see all eighteen of them in under five hours!

The festival is presented in three separate “series,” each series consisting of six completely different one-act musicals presented in 90 minutes. This format makes it possible creative artists and audience to get a large sampling of new musical theatre without spending a lot of money or time. The West Village Musical Theatre Festival will boast new contemporary pop-rock pieces, traditional musical theater, comedies, dramas, and even a short opera.

This year’s festival will feature work from Monitor Award-Winner, and 3-time Manhattan Monologue Slam Winner Carl Kissin (DEPRESSED, DEPRESSED); BMI/SECC Finalist Patrick Michael Wickham (BELLEVUE SKETCHES), American Harmony Prize Winners Robert Rokicki and Michael Ruby (LOVE, NY, RELATIVITY); NYMF Next Link Selection Finalists Robert J. Saferstein and Gil Varod (The Zegend of Lelda); NYMF Finalist Bryan Putnam (THE TOYMAKER); and Planet Connections Theatre Festivity finalist, Marisol Rivera (GALILEO).
