About the Show

Originally presented in 1979, Voideville, The Last Show on Earth was the first vaudeville-style show presented off-off-Broadway and is the spiritual father of the neo-burlesque shows that have prolifereated downtown ever since. The show contains elaborate and hilarious production numbers that underline the theme of a post-apocalyptic world in which it is the last vestige of entertainment. Acts include:

The Depressionist , Al Gordon
Mentalist, Kusamech The Great
Lion Tamer, Claude Scrotum
Dildo The Clown
Blues Legend, Two Dick Willie
Current reigning Miss Exotic World, Julie Atlas Muz
The Bitter Poet, Kevin Draine
Dirty Folksinger, Jessica Delfino
Burlesque Queen, Howlin’ Vic

Voideville is the brainchild of Gordon Bressack and Ruby Lynn Reyner, both veterans of the downtown theater scene who distinguished themselves as stars of John Vaccaro’s Play-House of the Ridiculous. Ruby, a recipient of the Drama Desk Award for acting, was seen last season in Taylor Mack’s Red Tide Blooming at P.S.122 and also headlines the rock group Ruby & The Rednecks. Making his return to the New York stage after many years, Gordon is a three time Emmy Award-winner for writing the hit animated television shows Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain. He was the first ever recipient of the Writer’s Guild Animation Writing Award.
