The Classical Theater of Harlem presents Trojan Women, adapted and directed by Alfred Preisser.
Euripides’ play presents the shattering image of a ruined civilization, whose survivors (women all) wait amid the wreckage to find out which conquering hero will be assigned responsibility for their inevitable enslavement, rape, and murder. CTH’s adaptation is completely new, featuring modern music composed specially for the production, dance, and the vivid and harrowing accounts of the survivors of Sierra Leone, Somalia, and Bahgdad.
