About This Show

Before you knew the acronym NYMF…
Before the judges decided what you would see…
There was a writer, a composer, and an application form.
All they needed was a deadline, an idea …and Emily Skinner.

Jeff and Hunter only have three weeks to write [title of show]!
Will they finish? Will it get produced?
Will Tony nominee Michael Berresse direct? And does any of this matter?
Are you still reading this blurb?
[title of show] explores how ideas begin and just what it takes to make a show a show.

Tony nominee Michael Berresse directs [title of show] a musical hall of mirrors-a show about creating a show for The New York Musical Theatre Festival’s “Next Link Project”.

Book writer, Hunter Bell, and composer, Jeff Bowen, star as themselves in this unique self-exploratory musical that examines how scary and vulnerable it is to create new work, and how daunting and difficult a task it is to actually get that work to be seen. This is not just for true musical theatre lovers and insiders, but it’s for anyone who has ever been afraid to create.
