Dreamscape Theatre presents the world premiere of the dark comedy Tiny Dynamite. What would you do if you knew you only had a year to live? That’s the question on one woman’s mind in Tiny Dynamite, a work author Richard Lovejoy has described as “The Feel-Bad Comedy of the Year.” Presented by Dreamscape Theatre in association with The Legitimate Theatre Company, and directed by Dreamscape Artistic Director Brad Raimondo.
At age twenty-five and going nowhere fast, Liz just can’t seem to find a reason for living. So, one New Year’s morning after swimming to consciousness through a river of booze following yet another blurry spree of drinking and partying, she decides to kill herself that December 31st. This gives her just one year to get her life in order and set things right with those she has pissed off.
Such a thing however, is easier said than done. No matter how she tries, Liz just can’t seem to help falling into her old patterns and her attempts to change only serve to alienate the people around her — most of whom are somewhat dysfunctional themselves. As the calendar counts down and her self-imposed deadline looms ever closer, Liz tries with increasing desperation to find something worth her staying alive. But can she find that something in time for her to see another New Year?
