About the Show
Tilted Axes: Necessary Music Only is an original work of music theater by composer Patrick Grant that combines mobile electric guitars, live percussion, choreography, lighting, and visual media into an immersive theatrical experience. Musicians perform while moving through choreographed formations, transforming the stage into a living landscape of sound and movement that blurs the boundaries between concert, dance, and theater. Performing untethered with battery-powered amplifiers, Tilted Axes creates an environment where music is experienced as something living, physical, and shared. Now in its sixteenth season, the ensemble continues its distinctive artistic practice of bringing contemporary music into public life through movement, community, and shared experience.
