About the Show

No doubt about it: Samuel Beckett is hot! Following a standing-room-only run at the Lower East Side’s Expanded Arts, the Midtown International Theatre Festival presents Three by Beckett, a collection of rarely-seen short plays by the master of minimalism.
A Piece of Monologue is a 15-minute stream-of-consciousness that balances Beckett’s classic blend of comedy and terror. Delivering a manic treatise on birth and death, the Speaker carefully avoids the topic of his own mortality, searching for his point, which he believes will appear if he keeps talking.
Not I features only a floating female mouth and a torrent of the playwright’s most powerful language.
Act Without Words II follows the wordless morning and evening rituals of two quintessential Beckett clowns.
