The Vagina Monologues, written by playwright and activist Eve Ensler, celebrates the vagina and propels the movement to stop violence against women. The vagina, a site of love and sex, hate and violence, mutilation, orgasm, and birth, is not only a tool of female empowerment, but the embodiment of individuality.
