About This Show

A brand new family musical, The Upside Down Boy, is a contemporary musical with a Latin beat based on the popular book “The Upside Down Boy: El nino de cabeza” by award-winning Mexican-American author Juan Felipe Herrera. Juanito, the story’s central character, is bewildered by his new school in Queens, and he misses the warmth and familiarity of country life. Everything he does, indeed, feels upside down. But a sensitive teacher and loving family help him to find his voice and make a place for himself in this new world through poetry, art, and music.
