About This Show

The Looking Glass Theatre presents Jennifer Goodlander’s all-female production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. This lesbian fantasia explores the concept of Utopia with Prospero the creator of her own ideal and sexless society. The production examines the issue of separatism on two levels: the uniquely lesbian world that the director creates for her audience, paralleled by the separate, androgynous, world created by Prospero for Miranda, Ariel, and Caliban.
