Hub Theatricals, in association with C.A.G.E. Theatre, prestns William Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. Director Michael Hagins brings this fast-paced comedy of gender roles into the 1930’s. The story focuses on bottlegger Petruchio (Rich Wisneski) and shrewish daughter Katherine (Laura Mae Baker) and thier courtship phase, marriage, and the surrounding events involving her sister Bianca (Chelsa Rowe), all of her odd suitors (Steve Walker, Eddy Cara), their servants (Imran W. Shekih, Hope Wright, Melissa Meli) and the fathers caught in the middle (Peter Guarraci and Jesuhan Malave). The production takes care to keep the same motives and themes as the origiinal, but adds a variety of jazz, zoot suits, and violence that will truly liven it up for the moderm audience!
