The Short, Violent Life of Margie Good, by Jimmy Camicia, harkens back to the author’s childhood days in a small New Jersey Town. It is a realistic drama, set in 1960, about gossip and racism in a working-class neighborhood. The arrival of a mixed-race young woman, searching for her birth mother, sets off a cycle of suspicion and rumormongering among three generations of women which swells, spirals out of control, and ultimately explodes into violence and murder. Harvey Tavel directs.
