In the last act of The Purgatory Project, one of the past century’s most hated individuals, Lee Harvey Oswald, is the bearer of a message of enlightenment and hope for all mankind. Louis Lopardi’s extraordinary play consists of four monologues of men from different times and backgrounds, including Dr. Sigmund Freud, Tchaikovsky, and J. Robert Oppenheimer. The Purgatory Project II–A Short Safari Through Purgatory is a theatrical tour de force, in whihc we visit these four historical figures in purgatories of their own creation.
