Less Than Rent Theatre presents The Private Sector, by Cory Finley, directed by Charlie Polinger
In the woods of rural Connecticut, Anticline Capital, the fastest-growing hedge fund in America, is holding its annual new-hires retreat. Four of the nation’s best and brightest are being groomed to work–and live–the Anticline way: with total focus, radical honesty, and hearts cleansed of the sort of emotions that might slow them down–jealousy, resentment, fear, anger, tenderness. But between tent-pitching escapades and campfire dinners, those emotions prove harder to eliminate than expected. Illicit affairs linger, feelings are trampled upon, and rocks are sharpened in the dark. And Will Merritt, an English major from Princeton suddenly in way over his head, is faced with a choice between the woman he never should have fallen for and the job he never should have taken.
The Private Sector is a bleak comedy about growing up in a baffling age, of egos and minds falling apart deep in the woods.
