About This Show

In The Novelist, a professor has just completed a novel with sublime ideology regarding heroism and revolution. When it comes to backing up his words he is a coward who betrays the rebel who inspired him to write it. Only the police, who want to use him as an informant, know of his true spinelessness, while the underground only hear rumors of his involvement in the movement (and how he has written a book about one of its heroes), and create a cult of personality. Still others suspect he is a rat. Trying to fool himself, the novelist tries to portray himself as courageous as the hero he wrote about. Rebecca Kendall directs James Bosley’s script.

This is running in repertory with Screaming in the Wilderness.
