New York City
The Paddywack Players present The Magic MetroCard, an innovative new dance theatre play for family audiences.
This contemporary New York fairytale follows small town girl Lily as she adjusts to living with her grandmother in the Big Apple. When Lily learns of a “magic” MetroCard that will take you “anywhere you want to go”, she is momentarily filled with hope and sets out into the city to find the magic card in hopes that it will transport her back to her “real” home. “Please, oh please take me home!”, whispers a determined Lily at the outset of her journey. Suddenly Lily’s world becomes a bit brighter and more spectacular as she steps onto the mysterious subway car and begins an enchanted journey through all the magical places New York has to offer. The Magic MetroCard, the brainchild of Cathrine Goldstein and Gwen Brownson, features music by Emmy-nominated composer Gil Talmi and choreography by Melissa Riker.
Schedule: Saturdays Nov. 6, 13, 20 and Dec. 4, 11, 18 at 2 pm. Sun. – Wed., Dec. 19 – 22 at 7 pm.
