About This Show

Developed with the Lark Theatre Company, renowned novelist and playwright Hisashi Inoue presents The Face of Jizo (Chichi to Kuraseba), a haunting portrayal of a father-daughter relationship in the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II.

Written by the young Kyoto-based Toshiro Suzue, Fireflies (Kami wo Kakiageru) is a poignant drama following several characters on a lonely search for connection and compassion in contemporary Japanese society. Recipient of the prestigious Kishida Drama Award, this latter program was developed with the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. Both readings will be followed by a discussion with the artists.
