Spain tells the story of a recently divorced young woman who deals with her abandonment in an innovative way: she dreams up a sixteenth-century Spanish conquistador and, through him, is able to find passion, vengeance, and peace that she never knew she had. The play, which premiered at The Woolly Mammoth Theatre in 2006, and was described by The Washington Post as bearing “great similarities to Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz in its rendering of a bizarre dreamscape where truth lies hidden in the madness.”
