Every father has hopes for his son. A father dreams his son will someday be a successful doctor, lawyer, athlete or even a preacher. Son of a Preacher Man explores what happens when a father’s disappointment leads down the road of shame when his eldest son doesn’t quite follow the path he has laid out for him.

Barnes Jr. (Duane Burress, Jr.), a preacher’s son from a generation of preachers, struggles with living up to his father’s expectations. He is ultimately forced to choose between the callings placed on his life or to follow his own heart, alienating his father and maybe even God.
