Sketching Utopia is a new play by Laurel Hessing, with songs by Arthur Abrams. In 1906, Upton Sinclair–author of The Jungle and Socialist candidate for Governor of California–started a commune in New Jersey called Helicon Hall. Among the occupants were author Sinclair Lewis and revolutianary Emma Goldman. This is a side of American history you won’t see on TV or in a Hollywood film. Crystal Field directs.
