About This Show

Romy Nordlinger and Adam Burns’ Sex and Sealing Wax is a multi-media solo show about the search for sexual freedom under the ever-watchful eye of the media. This production focuses on women through the decades as they face life-changing moments beneath the gaze of the media. Darker questions about independence and individuality are also raised – just who is it that sets the moral compass in society?

Spanning 1928 to the present, with stops in 1959, 1963 and 1976, Nordlinger takes the audience on a wild roller-coaster ride through a shadowy “medialand,” with seven characters facing tough choices. Hillary Adams directs.

Sex and Sealing Wax is part of the MIdtown International Theater Festival.
