About This Show

EXTENDED!

Back by popular demand, the show extends for three additional dates: Friday 12/17 at 8pm, Saturday 12/18 at 8pm and Sunday 12/19 at 2pm

A madcap, musical farce in the style of The Producers
and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Saddam — the Musical, Or A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to Baghdad, is written and directed by Joe Beck, with music by Robert Kiernan. The musical director is Matthew Anderson, and choreography is by Juson Williams.

Telling the inside story of how Saddam Hussein was an eager to please henpecked husband, the show relates the tale of Saddam’s kidnapping of the world’s greatest lyricists and songwriters to be the ghostwriters of Saddam’s ultimate paean of love. As the walls of his palaces crumble about him, Saddam is obsessed with creating the one song that will both memorialize his musical genius and win back the heart of his first wife.

This show is not affiliated with the Vital Theatre Company.
