Wright’s new theatre piece in development is My Mad Brother, where cats, coyotes, and Chekhov characters are features of this celebration of ‘bad luck’ – other peoples that is – and is performed with the lovely Yvette Feuer.
Ms. Wright won an OBIE for Sustained Excellence in theatre for her work with The NY Street Theatre Caravan; commissions from the NY State Council on the Arts and Joyce Mertz-Gilmore Foundation; a NYFA Fellowship for Computer Arts; a two-time MacDowell Colony Fellow, and is the author of three one-woman shows, including She’s Just Away! a comedy about grieving, Animal Instincts, about the relationship between human and non-human animals, and The Moon in Vain, a 5 character play inspired by Chekhov’s The Seagull. She’s an actor, performer, writer, director, lyricist and dramaturg who takes dancing lessons and moonlights as a Prof at NYU’s Film School.
