About This Show

In the one-woman show Passin Time, writer/performer Khemali Murray brings to life a group of African-American characters from the inner city. Characters include Blue and Diamond, two little girls who just want to play with Barbie; Joy, a young woman who ignores the pains of the past and present by “easing the pain” with her witty sense of humor and the next hit she can get her hands on; Boogie, a lifetime rapper/entrepreneur who is stuck on the bench; Z, who calls herself an artist although she hasn’t quite made it yet; plus a doctor and a schizophrenic Christian who have a lot to say. The show poses a challenge to the audience: your time here is precious. What do you do as time passes by?
