Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre returns to the Joyce with a mythical and modern program for the mind and heart.
In addition to last season’s acclaimed Firebird, Rioult will premiere Les Noces, an alluring interpretation of Stravinsky’s “Les Noces” (The Wedding) that reveals the conflicted emotion behind this traditional rite of passage.
The tragic love story of Orfeo and Eurydice inspires the Prohibition Era Kansas City Orfeo Suite, scored to the jazz of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Bennie Moten, and performed live by the Juilliard Jazz Ensemble.
