“The will of God has changed.”
A riveting, controversial new play by William S. Leavengood (“The best young playwright to come down the pike in a long, long time”– Lanford Wilson,). LIttle Mary deals with a conservative Roman Catholic Cardinal and his protege, a progessive California Bishop, whose lives are thrown into turmoil when a fifteen-year-old Mexican-American girl in their care creates an international sensation, claiming that the seven babies she carries are the children of God. The two men struggle with the nature of their faith, their worldy ambitions, and each other as they must take action and take sides over the “miracle” of the pregnamt virgin that the media dubs, “Little Mary.”
“Little Mary is a fully realized and unexpectedly rich meditation on
> that most basic irony: the uncertainty of faith.”– Marlon Hurt, offoffonline.com
“…strong storytelling!” — Andrea Stevens, NY Times
