About This Show

This 1948 comedy is a semi-autobiographical play by Moss Hart – a memoir of Mr. Hart’s debut into the theatrical world as a young playwright. The action takes place in Boston’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel, overlooking the Boston common and Garden, prior to and after the opening of a new play. Theater buffs will recognize the characters that come out of the suite, beginning with the excitement and the bonding of the star, director, producer and the new playwright, joined by family and friends. After the opening, see how they can turn against each other and only after Shriners and reviews, does a seeming tragedy turn into comedy.
