Amalgamated Memories, in association with Magnus Et Parvus Productions, presents the world premiere of Immortality, written and performed by David Fairhurst, directed by Lisa Deo, and produced by Zenon Kruszelnicki, at the eighth annual New York International Fringe Festival.
It’s humanity’s greatest open secret: that death will take every last one of us.
But one desperate procrastinator decides there’s got to be a loophole.
And he’s going to find it if it kills him…
Forty years old and faced with his own embarrassing lack of accomplishment, a solitary, obsessive, hypochondriacal would-be writer struggles to find a way to cheat death and live forever–through his writing, by becoming a health fanatic, by convincing a woman to bear his children… or maybe he should just ride the coattails of history and assassinate somebody famous? Tackling subjects rarely spoken about (and rarer still on stage), Immortality exposes our modern-day spiritual angst and the multitude of ways in which one particularly angst-ridden man tries to deal with the terrifying fact of his own impermanence.
