New York City
The Oberon Theatre Ensemble presents the third play of its fifth season, an original drama called I, Unseen by Marika Mashburn that focuses on the lives of four women under the Taliban regime. The play is a portrait of the women of Afghanistan and what they were enduring on a daily basis from the viewpoint of an American psychologist researching the effects on these well-educated women who are now unable to work, get healthcare, or even leave the house without a close male relative. Originally written as a means to inform the public of a woman?s plight in this brutal society, this timely play is even more moving and important for audiences to see today.
The show performs on the following schedule:
Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10
Wednesday, February 13 through Sunday, February 17
Friday, February 22 through Sunday, February 24
All performances at 8PM except Sundays at 7 PM.
Note: A special benefit performance for Women for Afghanistan Women and RAWA is scheduled for Monday, February 11 at 7:30PM.
